Webinar:
Teaching Music to Gifted and Twice Exceptional Students

Gifted students are an often overlooked segment of the neurodivergent umbrella. However, students who are intellectually gifted require differentiated instruction as much as students with other learning differences. Twice exceptional students (those who are intellectually gifted and have an additional diagnosis, often autism, ADHD or learning disabilities), often require a specific approach that can be tricky to find, particularly since these students often struggle with perfectionism and anxiety. In this session, you will gain a better understanding of the needs of gifted students through the lens of neurodiversity, develop strategies for support in music learning for the sometimes “spiky” profile of twice exceptional students, and learn to navigate the mental health challenges that gifted students often face.
